The issue, for those who really want to dig into Vrba's and Wetzler's efforts to save nearly 1 million persons from annihilation, is never as simple as a social media reply to a loaded question like Mulhall's in these comments. According to most credible accounts, Vrba and Wetzler's reports did end up saving about 200,000 Jewish civilians targeted for genocidal mass murder. For that, we owe him and Wetzler our greatest praise. Vrba's position on this issue did not change during his life, and for his commitment to remember and honor those he tried to save but who perished, he remains marginalized by many. That is a gross injustice.
